Today was a pretty lazy day, only one class that I didn’t even make it to. Somehow it made it even harder to go out for a run, but I feel better now that I did. Hopefully that will lead to a more productive evening.

Fat Squirrels

Has anyone else noticed how big the squirrels have become in the last 2 weeks or so? It seems like the snow was just melting and now everyone is getting ready for winter again. It’s been pretty nice in Kingston this past week so I hope that doesn’t mean terrible weather is on the way.

I am fairly pleased with this run considering I haven’t been very motivated lately, and haven’t made time to eat and rest well. I struggled quite a bit to finish and planned a terrible route that zig-zagged near my house too much, but I feel good for having toughed it out.

Track run

I was visiting home on Friday and it was dark out so I jogged at the track near a high school. That way my mom could go at her own pace (she is more of a walker than a runner), and she got to watch me and make sure I was safe (she worries a lot). It was a pretty nice night out and I felt pretty good during my run, but my muscles were really tight afterward.

Bringing it back in

So I got a little off track thanks to Halloween festivities and a busy few days at school. We’re preparing decorations for our formal (which is this this Saturday =D) with a lot of construction and painting, and I’m generally fatigued (not to mention terribly behind in schoolwork). I had to deal with an awful migraine all day yesterday. It’s really nice out tonight and it felt good to go running again. I can feel an improvement already and that’s always great motivation to continue.

On a side note, I welcome suggestions on improving my pushups, of which I can do very few. And any recommendations for winter jogging gear, preferably something that is possible on a student budget… =)

It was a really nice day for a run in Kingston. Great weather and fall scenery. My run went well, stopped once to walk for a couple minutes (at ~12 min) and took it easy on a decently sized hill near the end. Overall, I feel pretty good about it.

So, this is where I will keep track of my workouts. I hope to get into shape and join the reserves in the upcoming summer. I planned to start training this past summer but I broke my ankle in early June and am just having a hard time getting back into the swing of things, especially with school going on and such. I’m not very good at staying on track and I get pretty lazy sometimes so hopefully this will help! Cheers.
